Step 4: Creating the 8-Bit and 4-Bit Images
The 8 Bit Image:
Now that you have the 24-bit images ready to be made into 32-bit icons, you need to create 8-bit versions. The
8-bit icons will be displayed in any color mode lower than 32-bit.
The 8-bit versions will not have the 8-bit alpha channel so they will need to have their edges cleaned
up as there's no antialiasing (that is, their edges will be jagged).
